Common questions

How do I back up my data?

Open Settings in MapGuide and export a JSON backup. Save it to a location you control. Use Import to restore a backup; review the confirmation carefully, because restoring replaces the current app data.

Why can’t I find a place or compare a route?

Check your internet connection and try a more specific place name or area. Apple Maps coverage and rate limits may affect results. You can also save a place manually using coordinates.

How do I use my current location?

Choose the current-location option when saving a place or setting your trip start. If permission is denied, review MapGuide’s location permission in iOS Settings. You can still enter a location manually.

How do I delete my data?

Delete lists and trips in the app, then use the option to remove unused places in Settings. Discard any saved import draft in the importer. Deleting the app removes its local data; exported backups remain wherever you saved them.

Where can I download MapGuide?

MapGuide is available on the App Store. Use the download link on the home page. TestFlight builds are available to invited testers; they may include features not yet released publicly.

What does the one-time purchase unlock?

In version 1.1, trips of up to 20 stops remain free. One optional non-consumable purchase removes the 20-stop limit for new trips, without a subscription. The US base price is $0.99; the app shows the current local App Store price before you confirm. Import limits, AI suggestion limits and external map limits still apply.

How do I restore my purchase?

In Settings, open Purchases and choose Restore Apple purchases while using the same Apple Account. The unlock remains available after restarting the app. An exported backup does not transfer the purchase.

How does local AI work?

Version 1.1 adds on-device planning on compatible devices with iOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence enabled and ready. Map searches still require internet. Core planning, imports and purchases work without Apple Intelligence. Review AI proposals before saving them.
